Tali's writing.
Here's the first page of a 3 page comic story I'm writing for one of my characters. Her name is Tzedek (pronounced Tzeh-deck).
"The Forgotten Ones" Tagline & Page 1 Copyright 2012 Talisha Harrison Tagline: As a result of the police bringing their search to a halt and having received very little coverage in the media, the family of a young woman who’s been missing for six months only hope of finding their relative alive lies in Tzedek an anti-heroine who’s dedicated to riding the Orlando area of human traffickers. While taking down a trafficking ring she manages to find the young woman along with a many other missing persons whose names have long been forgotten in the eyes and ears of the public. Page One Panel 1 (establishing shot distant long shot) It’s mid afternoon at Seminole State College Sanford Lake Mary Campus. We’re right outside the student services building (right across from the administration building see reference photo). The campus is busy. There are students walking to and fro. A few sit at the round picnic tables. Near the tables on the right side are three vending machines and a long bulletin board. CAP: Information. It’s what we learn. Panel 2 (close medium shot) We see a bulletin board that’s filled with business cards, places for rent, etc. and three missing person flyers. CAP: We gather it from different sources. CAP: It’s what I seek so I can bring the missing home. Panel 3 (Close up) We now see Rowry B. Watson aka Tzedek for the first time. She’s standing in front of the bulletin board (we don’t see the board, we just see her) dressed in plain clothes. She’s staring intently at the board. CAP: This is my office. Panel 4 (close up) Flyer of a pretty white young woman (think Natalie Hollaway, Elizabeth Smart, etc) "Name:Jamie Wallace Age:22 DOB: July 12th 1990 Gender: Female Race: Cacasian Eye Color: Blue Hair Color: Blonde Height: 5’4 Weight: 120 Last seen: October 11th 2011 If you have any information please call 1-800-434-1792." CAP: She has the police, media, and even the whole nation’s attention. Panel 5 (close up) Flyer of a cute White boy with this description: “Name: Oliver Sebastian Moore Age: 6 DOB: Septemeber 2nd 2006 Gender: Male Race: Cacassian Eye Color: Green Hair Color: Red Height: 4’3 Weight: 95 Last seen: November 30th 2011. If you have any information please call 1-800-434-1792.” CAP: He has a high chance of being found-dead or alive. Panel 6 (close up) Flyer: A young black woman with this description: “Name: Nicki Bianca Roberts Age:16 DOB: June 30th 1996 Gender: Female Race: Black Eye Color: Brown Hair Color: Brown Height: 5’2 Weight 112 Last seen: September 8th 2011 If you have any information please call 1-800-434-1792.” CAP: She doesn’t. She’s been overlooked and labeled a ‘runaway’. CAP: She’s been forgotten… Panel 7 (long shot) Determined and resolute, Rowry walks off leaving the bulletin board in the background. CAP: But not by her family, and not by me… |

I like it! That last scene has a nice juxtaposition of how the world unfortunately works: people or kids who disappear of a certain class, race or gender are more important than others -- but at least there's someone who will actively do something about it. This sounds like a nice idea so far but somehow (based on the tagline) this seems more like a comic of 5 pgs +. That's just me though >_>

Thanks! I would like to make it 5pgs but the anthology that I submitted it to The Gathering said that it has to be three pages. It's a challenge but I'm up for it! Now here's page two (This page I found more difficult to write than page one because it has Tzedek fighting the bad guys): Page 2 Panel 1 (establishing shot) Four days later. It’s late evening and we’re now in Deltona, FL at a foreclosed residential property-it’s a manufactured home on lot out in the boonies. In the foreground there are many trees. Having just jumped down from a tree, TZEDEK is hovering midair above two guards who are shooting at her as she tightly grips her sword ready and eager to cut them down. CAP: These guys take women off the streets. Panel 2 (long shot) Tzedek has brought her sword down killing them with one strike. CAP: Forcing them to become sex slaves. Panel 3 (medium shot) Tzedek kicks in the door of the house. CAP: That’s how human traffickers work. Panel 4 (long shot) Tzedek moves fast as the last two guards race towards her guns blazing. CAP: They may be a small ring in the scale of things, but their effect is huge. Panel 5 (long shot) Tzedek with her speed and agility swiftly cuts them down. CAP: Not a lot of monsters to kill tonight. |

Here's page 3
Page 3 Panel 1 (establishing shot) We’re now in the master bedroom of the home which is dimly lit. There’s a king sized bed, a flat screen TV, and couch in the room. There are eight women in the room sitting down on the floor, the couch, and the bed. They’re bruised, dirty, and sweaty. They’re different ethnicities ranging in age from fourteen to twenty-five. One of the women is NICKI Bianca Roberts. The women are terrified and confused as to TZEDEK’S presence. TZEDEK’S back is facing the reader her head is turned to the right as she looks at a scared NICKI who has a questioning gaze on her face. TZEDEK: NICKI BIANCA ROBERTS? NICKI: YES? TZEDEK: YOU’RE GOING HOME TONIGHT, ALL OF YOU ARE. Panel 2 (medium shot) Tears and relief have filled Nicki’s eyes as well as the rest of the women in the room who are in the background. Tzedek is embracing Nicki, reassuring her that she and the other ladies are now safe. TZEDEK: IT’S ALRIGHT, THE MONSTERS ARE GONE. Panel 3 (close medium shot) The next day: A news reporter (It’s Vanessa Echols from Channel 9 see picture here: http://www.wftv.com/news/news/vanessa-echols/nFBwY/) on the TV breaks the news to viewers about the missing women who’ve been found. VANESSA: POLICE SAY THAT THE VIGILANTE TZEDEK KILLED THE MEN WHO WERE PART OF THE HUMAN TRAFFICKING RING. Panel 4 (long medium shot) Now we see Nicki hugging her mother and father after being reunited. Vanessa continues to report the story. CAP (VANESSA): SIXTEEN YEAR OLD NICKI BIANCA ROBERTS WHO WAS MISSING FOR SIX MONTHS WAS ONE OF THE EIGHT WOMEN RESCUED. Panel 5 (medium shot) Eatonville, FL. A week later, TZEDEK stands in front of another bulletin board outside a community center that has missing person flyers on it (the people feature are men, women, and children of color it would be nice to use real flyers of missing persons). Tzedek’s back is facing the readers. CAP: The number of missing continues to grow. It doesn’t stop, neither can I. Panel 6 (close medium shot) TZEDEK is now off panel. We see a closeup of the missing person flyers on the board. CAP: They won’t be forgotten. CAP: No Justice. No Peace. |

Here's my tagline for another idea that I hope to bring to life Necrocalia
Two female super soldiers who are genetically bio-engineered alien-monster-humanoid hybrids must protect what’s left of the living from the zombie apocalypse that’s ravaging the Adayo galaxy by the harbinger of death known only as Necrocalia.

Sorry for the late reply! Thanks, that story for Tzedek (barring editing) will be published in The Gathering Anthology for the Crime section/volume. Yes I'm still working on Necrocalia-I've been busy writing comic and music reviews for three sites (and I've got a fourth one on the way that I'm preparing to start reviewing for). So I'll be posting more stuff soon! |

I'm looking for an artist to collaborate with on Necrocalia
Hello! I’m looking for an artist to collaborate on a web comic story called Necrocalia (http://necrocalia.tumblr.com/).
Here’s the tagline: Two female super soldiers who are genetically bio-engineered alien-monster-humanoid hybrids must protect what’s left of the living from the zombie apocalypse that’s ravaging the Adayo galaxy by the harbinger of death known only as Necrocalia. Though I’m low on funds I’m willing to pay as I know that artists also are trying to earn a living. I was was also thinking of asking for donations to help fund the comic. Here’s what I’ve done so far as a writer: I’ve published my first poetry book at my community college’s print shop in 2006. I’m the creator, editor, and only staff member of Kehila Magazine (http://kehilamagazineofficial.wordpress.com/) and I’m the creator of the Comicmaniacs Blog (http://comicmaniacs.tumblr.com/). Currently, I’m a contributor to WhyNotIndie.com-where I write comic and webcomic spotlights. I also interview indie creators. I’m a contributor to Fanboybuzz.com-I review comics as well as write the Comicmaniacs Column. I’m a contributor to ComicsCrux.com which will launch in August. I write comic reviews and I’m writing a column entitled Journey Into Manga and Anime. Finally I’m a contributor to Toonaripost.com where I mainly write album reviews and other music articles. I’m also an aspiring comic book writer. I have three stories published-one is a four page story in Womanthology: Heroic entitled Defect: Light to Combat the Darkness with artist Kelly Turnbull and the second is a one page story in the Womanthology Holiday PDF entitled “Don’t Let the Light Go Out” with artist Brenda Kirk, and the third is another one page story for the Valentine’s Day Special illustrated by Brenda Kirk entitled ‘June’. I April 2013 my three page story entitled Tzedek: ‘The Forgotten Ones’ will be published in The Gathering Comic anthology while another three page story will be also be published in their War Volume next year. I’m also currently working on a few projects that I hope to get published. If you’re interested please email me at taliadina@gmail.com |

Necrocalia
Hello all!
I'm currently working on one of my few comic book ideas that I want to get publishd. This one is called Necrocalia and currently I'm working on one of the main characters origin story with an artist. The pages are penciled and they're being inked. Once the inking and lettering are done, then I hope to sell the origin story digitally and print via Indy Planet. Here's the tagline: Two female super soldiers who are genetically bio-engineered alien-monster-humanoid hybrids must protect what's left of the living from the zombie apocalypse that's ravaging the Adayo galaxy by the harbinger of death known only as Necrocalia. To take a look at Necrocalia and to see some art visit: http://necrocalia.tumblr.com/ |
