Trading Card art hand-render size?

If were drawing trading card size art by hand, intended to be reduced for production... would I just draw it 7x5 (twice the 3.5x2.5) measure? Or do artists go larger than that?

I was considering doing something hand-drawn to be reduced for printing/production... and if I decide hand-drawn vs digital, I just wondered what is typical for this kind of work.

I know I can do whatever I want as long as I keep the proportions correct, but wanted to ask anyway.

As long as the proportions were right, it would surely print nicely for personal use anyway... I've done it and it worked fine.
