Script for colorist?
Newb question here:
When giving artwork to the colorist, do you create a separate script with color instructions, or do you just give the colorist the same script given to the penciler/artist? Thanks. |

I generally just try to keep them in mind a bit when I write the script, I let them use their common sense and if it's something out of the ordinary, I tell them.
If the scene takes place at night, I say that it takes place at night. If a character needs to wear a green coat, I tell them the character needs to wear a green coat. I think it's really a matter of how specific you want things. If they're wearing a coat and you don't care what color it is, then I personally would list a color unless I wanted to add some more variety to the scene. |

I go through the regular script, take out the dialogue and highlight anything the colorist needs to pay special attention to in red.

Thanks guys! I did include some things in the script, but there are definitely things I'll need to add. Putting them in red or highlighting them is a great idea.
