Cool Borderlands 2

I'm surprised that there isn't already a thread for this promising game, as personally I've been looking forward to this game for a long time. I thought the first game was brilliant, as it was a FPS cross RPG in a huge world with a practically infinite amount of guns. Not to mention the fantastic art style, character design and level design. The sequel looks even greater. It's only about a month until it comes out, so who else is going to get it?

I love Gearbox. I loved Borderlands. I'm not sure I'm sold on Borderlands 2, yet.

But Borderlands 2 looks like the original Borderlands, just better! They even have character customisation.

That's my issue it sounds exactly like Borderlands. Except now it has a more coherent linear story.

But why stray from the formula that made it so successful? It seems they've done it "right" (amped up the parts that were lacking, like now there's a lot more different terrain areas instead of mostly rocky desert, revised the gun creation system so that there's more of a noticeable difference between similar guns, but yet there are more variations possible than in the first game (which had over 16 million possible combinations), but they've also extended that system to other items, like shields and specialist packs (those packs that give you bonus perks based on your build). Added more story, more gameplay variation (gunzerker can dual wield, and there's a character with some significant and unique melee specialties).

The main question I have, which nobody can or wants to answer is: Where's the females? Borderlands had 5 females. 4 of which were NPC's (and one wasn't even more than a mention, unless you had the DLC that she was featured in), and one was a player character. NONE of the standard human enemies were female. So where were all the little psycho midget raiders coming from?

Midgets aren't born. They're hatched from Claptrap eggs. Everyone knows that.

Too true. I see that in Borderlands 2 there are at least another 2 female NPC's. Perhaps bandits don't need genders, like snails.

The major difference that I am looking forward to is that rocket launchers are actually going to be decent in Borderlands 2, same with melee attacks.

Who's getting it, for what system, and should we start up DW groups when the game launches?

Nobody's playing this? Aside from a brief Steam related glitch, and some mostly minor graphical issues, it's awesome!
