I dig both pieces.. this is just be a personal opinion...but...I cant say my eyes are really processing the texture on the blue of supe's costume very well. It really looks like a texture was just photoshopped over his costume....I'd go without it personally but if you feel its gotta be there, maybe try to recreate that look a little more naturally, or drop the textures opacity significantly.

Yeah I see what you mean, I did not just drop the texture on it, I use an overlay and brushed it on, But do so see how you mean. Thanks for the feedback

Agree. The texture serves no purpose here, it only distracts. I'd suggest avoiding using textures at all until you've gotten a better handle on rendering and color theory. A lot of people think just slapping a texture on something instantly makes it better but that is rarely the case. They are best used very subtly and need to be integrated into the piece or they can do the exact opposite of what you intended.

pulled the textures off his suit, Better?
![]() Oh and FYI, I don't use texture as a crutch, I use them to enhance, I always do all my rendering before i lay on textures ![]() Thanks again for the feedback. |

I wasn't going to say anything on this but if you are looking for critiques here is my 2 cents.
The lighting you have is wrong based on the shadows the artist drew. I'd stay away from that soft brush you are using, it's hurting the image. Try throwing in some hard shadows to make it really pop. Below I wanted to show where the light was coming from based on the shadows.
