A quick doodle page I did this evening. I hate the feeling when there's someone around me who's learning faster than I am - not for them, I'm always happy for them, but I feel like I'm slowing down. So I end up doing emergency doodles like these to calm myself.
Was looking at a lot of Shaun Healey's style, wondering how the hell he does it. And through that, I felt I learnt a lot tonight about the weight of each pencil stroke. A couple of his characters are in there, and I ended up mimicking his style a little without really looking too closely at his pieces.
Anyway enough from me, here's the doodle. Got to go, there's a movie night at my friend's that I cannot miss!

I know I'm kinda ducking out of doing comics at the moment, but I will get round to it soon! I just need to get the right kind of story first, or even finish off the one that I'm currently doing. Will post up in due time for sure!

More line-weight tests, this time a bit more conrolled. Really having fun with this, although it takes more time to do with each drawing than before. I guess that's something I'll get quicker at with practice! ^_^

Haven't update in a while, since I've been having to practice more realistic styles. I'm going into Game Concept Art at the end of the day, and I need to get better if I want any chance of a job at the end of a road. >_<
Anyways, this is what I did tonight quickly. It was going to be realistic, but in the end I went back to my cartoon style. It's just more pleasant to use, if I'm honest.

Something I completed around 80% of a few weeks ago, and just finished the rest up today. This is only an excerpt to something that should one day be serious, so no text, replaced with some faces instead. It's quite rough, but the first proper comicky thing I've uploaded, so.....I guess that makes me a comic artist amateur, if nothing else. xD

(and funnily enough, these are the same two characters that I started off my thread with! )

Doodling headshots for the 'Blackjack' gang, they’re huge in number and very varied, since all kinds of criminals and outcasts have found solace in Robert’s group. The only common trait every member has is that they’re all male! Either they never wanted women in their gang, or women found rather more tasteful places to be. Possibly both.

Did the 24 Hour Comic Challenge, so now I have my first comic up here on Womanthology.
Even if it is sketchy, messy and horrible. It's finished, which means more for me than anything else right now. Hope you like it, just a basic day in my life really.
