Urban doesn't have the right profile or frame. He's better of sticking to comedies from now on like he played in Star trek.

The Raid was stupid enough. I don't need the Judge Dredd version.

I thought the same thing. Stallone's chin was better.

Wait until you see the emo "Twilight" version of Judge Death.

He's really pretty, real pale, and totally into the same girl as Dredd.

Why does "tough Character" always mean "Do your worst Clint Eastwood impression"

That alone will make this movie suck! I don't think I can go the 90min. without pissing myself laughing.

Won't be on my list.

Look at it from this angle -- there is no possible way this movie will be worst than the first one.

No. Way.

Rob Schneider isn't in this film, so it's automatically at least a semi-decent adaptation of the Judge Dredd comics.

Block Wars are an iconic feature in Judge Dredd. Block Wars take place in Mega City One with alarming frequency as a result of Block Mania.

A Block in Judge Dredd is based on the worst aspects of British high density tower-block housing that sprung up in cities after World War II, and the housing estates that followed.

In Mega City One many citizens spend their entire lives in self-contained Blocks the size of small cities and towns without ever setting foot outside the massive high-rise complexes. Some citizens of Mega-City One aren't so lucky, and spend their entire lives in vehicular mo-pads (mobile homes) due to the chronic housing shortage. These mo-pads can be quite large and luxurious, and rarely stop moving along the sprawling public transportation routes of Mega-City One.

Think one Block War is bad? Try bringing the Law to a Fifty-Block War!

"For a day and a half a Fifty-Block War had been raging.
Now, no Block knew whose side they were on - and no one cared!"

Clint Eastwood as Detective Harry Callaghan in the Dirty Harry series was a key inspiration for Judge Dredd in 2000AD. Some are praising Karl Urban for getting the Eastwood impersonation down pat, while others aren't so sure. As least this version of Dredd will be able to form complete syllables.

Keep in mind that Judge Dredd's physique and uniform changed since he first started patrolling Mega City One back in the late 1970's.

The early uniform worn by the Street Judges was kind of like a cross between highway patrol/riot squad police officers, and Dredd wasn't a particularly physically imposing character either.

The early uniform pieces were gradually increased in size (gloves, boots, belt, badge and elbow and knee pads, shoulder pad and shoulder eagle) to the current iconic image of Dredd in his Judges uniform.

This looks like the real comic book Judge Dredd to me. Could be a good film, too. Urban looks excellent in the title role. One of the co-creators is praising this. No reason for complaint (so far).

No matter what anyone says this will be compared to the Stallone flick and it will be judged to be of a lower standard. Then again Stallone Dredd was just Stallone Demolition Man. In the first Dredd flick it was going alright until Stallone took off the Helmet, Then it may as well have been Cobra, Demolition Man, Something and Cash. Just a stupid formulaic action flick
