Writer seeking collaborator/artist for graphic novel series (Paid)

Greetings,

I am a writer developing a dramatic vampire/horror graphic novel titled The Importance of Blood. The story is set on the streets of contemporary Detroit and follows Rose, the mute familiar of a modern day vampire, who returns home to her estranged family twenty years after her disappearance. As she begins to bond with her family, Rose's loyalties to her master are finally tested.

As a vampire piece, this is a story that steps away from the traditional vampire genre tropes. I don't see the vampire as your traditional bloodsucker (fangs and capes and demonic eyes) and tried to find an original take. As for the world, it is set on the very real streets of Detroit, Michigan, so you aren't creating a world from scratch per se. Just "photographing" that world through a specific genre lens.

With that said, I am looking for an artist who can bring their own voice to the piece.

Compensation
As I want to respect your talents, I want this to be a paid position. But, I am also looking for a collaborator who isn't just clocking in and thinking short term. This is a project that I am hoping to both create as a graphic novel and transition directly into a feature film property.
