The Girl Scouts now offer a comic art badge!

So how many of you were in the girl scouts? I was for quite a few years.

A good friend of mine is a troop leader in Rhode Island, and I spent most of my weekend volunteering on a camping trip with her girls. While I was there, I found out that a bunch of new badges were rolled in late last year... and amongst them was the new "Comic Artist" badge for Cadette level girls (7th and 8th graders).

My first reaction, of course, was jealousy. I never got to earn badges about comics when I was a scout! However, I soon got over it and saw how awesome this is.

I told my friend all about Womanthology and she definitely thought it would be something great for her girls to learn about and see. (Or potentially try to work on - wouldn't having a page or two made by a girl scout troop be pretty nifty?) I'll be trying my best to help some of her girls on the badge. I'm definitely looking forward to it myself.

I remember my sisters being a part of the girls scouts and even became brownie scouts *its been so long a go I'm not sure if I'm calling it right* and I always wanted to be a part of that but was never able but if I think that is so wonderful that they have a badge like that. If I could magically transform myself into be a little girls scout and get my mother to sign me up for it just so I could get that badge I would probably do it O.o

Aww! I've never been in the girl scouts, but that is SO awesome!!! I wish we wouldve got some kind of award for loving and creating comics back then! lol
