I've read the studio's plot synopsis for this movie. It's gonna be bad...

I think this is going to be incredible! Ridley Scott coming back! And I've always wanted to know more about that huge alien in the beginning. You guys see the close up of the humanoid alien?? Posted it on my facebook! Won't let me embed it on here. http://www.facebook.com/raydillon

I saw that yesterday and watched it like a dozen times. I think that is one of the best trailers ever put together.

I'd say that's a little hysterical of you, but it is a good trailer. I'm looking forward to this movie a whole lot, and I know it's still being kept a bit of a secret, but I can't figure out just where they are going with it - is it a prequel to the Alien films, or something more than that?

I think it is both, actually.

I don't think I'm being hysterical. I think that technically this is one of the best trailers I've ever seen. At least, I can't think of any others that hit this level of editing, etc. The trailer tells enough of the story to engage the viewer without really giving anything away, and it is editing to show the progression of intensity within the movie. It starts slow and builds to a frenetic end, leaving enough questions and piquing enough interest to make me (and I assume others) want to see the movie. That is what a trailer is supposed to do, and this one does it very well.

I agree. Way to many trailers show to much, or even spoil things.

That was a well produced trailer, but it did give away a lot of the story.

Is this a Fox flick? If so it will look very clean and brand new and have blue filters all over. Fox loves blue. Scott aint what he used to be.

I do agree with this, and it is my only hesitation about the movie. I haven't like much that he has done since Gladiator, but his early sci-fi stuff are some of my all time favorites. I'm hoping this is a return to form for him.

EDIT: And yes, this is Fox.

Aside from Technical stuff old Scott wasn't that great either. His lone standout to me is Alien. Blade Runner, though a well designed and crafted flic was dull as hell. It was dull when I saw it the first time and still dull on DVD VHS Turner TBS HBO AMC SyFy etc. And in Fact i'll give the technical part over to the Futurist designers like Syd Meade

Twice, woke up around the arena parts. Watched the entire thing later on DVD. This to me seems like Scott trying to catch up to Cameron who has outdone him in every flick he's done. Imagine Blade Runner 2 if Cameron had done it?
