The Lohan's and Hilton's of this world will always be able to "get away" with this type of stuff as long as the public continues to support them. My family has had drug addicts and alcoholics since way before I was born, the only thing that broke that cycle is my mother taking an active role in what I was doing and who I was with.

I have a son now and I can understand why my mother was so involved... you have to be or else your children will be raised by who ever is around. I blame the majority of what the Lohan's and Hilton's are doing on bad parenting... period. Yes its great to have a talented child but you still need to maintain some control over what they are doing and who they are with. You need to keep them away from the vultures that will pick your child to their death - the Dana Plato name was mentioned earlier and she should be an example for this generation of what happens when you have it all and then it all comes crashing down on you.

I am not wishing death on any of these people but you can see it coming the way their lives are spiraling out of control, and its very sad.
