Colorist needed! Possibly digital inks too.
I am a writer and penciler and need a colorist, or to use a broader term a production artist, to help me finish projects. I primarily work in a manga influenced style for all-ages books (think Legend of Zelda, DBZ, Avatar TLAB, etc.)
Hereís what Iím looking for:
Primarily a colorist, but if you can digitally ink and/or draw backgrounds thatís even better.
The first project would be 10 colored pages of a kids book (no panels), and after I secure funding I would need the rest of the book colored (no work will be done on speculation). No background drawing will be required for the kids book, and we can discuss the inking (I can ink it myself) as possibly an extra job, but it would be good to have someone that can do both for future projects. It would be great to find someone to work with in the long-term and regularly send work to.
Rates: $25 per page, though that is negotiable. (Since it is a kids book a single images takes up two pages, so you would receive $50 per 2 page spread. Think Where the Wild Things Are or Doctor Seuss Books). It should be relatively quick to color since just about all the images will only have two shades, a base and a shadow.
I will need an invoice from you, stating what work was done and how much was charged. I can also provide a brief contract stating the terms of work, which would be standard work for hire.
I will pay you every two pages. After you turn in a 600dpi tiff or jpeg file via e-mail or dropbox, and it is approved, I will pay you via Paypal within 3 business days. These terms are negotiable in case there is something that works better for the both of us.
Iím pasting a bunch of links of the coloring style Iím looking for (cell-shading) as well as my own portfolio with my information.
Please send replies with sample work and estimated rates, if different from above, to swordoflightstudio at gmail dot com. Thanks!
