Yawl
Yet Another Weird Logo.
I started out spoofing DC's new icon... but then I... I kinda liked it... ![]() I'm not sure if I want to keep the door handle, and I'm wondering if this is just TOO spoofy to legitimately use. Thoughts? (Note: The two on the RIGHT are, of course, quick jobs - Just a basic idea of the humorous possibilities of using an open door as an icon.) |

I don't think anyone's going to find yours to be in any way similar to the new DC branding. You're not using a circular shape, and that's the beginning and end of what theirs is. Go for it!

DC's not even using a door, it's a peeled sticker. I'd go for number three.

As usual, the DW lettering board is full of awesome. Thanks, guys!
I was thinking it'd be funny/interesting to change the door based on the comic genre. So for example, crime comics would have the police tape, horror would have the blood (ala the Shining elevator), and so on. A zombie comic could have the door barricaded with wood, etc. That's essentially the "Is this too similar to DC" part - since I'm not sure if anyone else is doing the edited icon thing so far. |

Yeah, I like it too. And I don't get the spoof factor here either. I like the different applications for different genre titles too. Nice work.

Perhaps with a bit of visible desk and a bare lightbulb dangling inside the door?
![]() I guess I'm over-sensitive about it, then. It was just the general concept of an icon that 'changes' with the content. |

How about the noir version has a sexy dame blocking the light on the doorway. You know, the kind that's all legs and all trouble?

Sounds good, maybe a hair above my talent level. (Notice there are no actual humans so far.)
Heh. I could go with edited royalty-free stock, though... like here: ![]() Funny sidenote, as of today I'm actually fighting the domain company for incomics.com - got stuck with a scam registrar via the third party I originally bought it from. |
