Talking My Hellboy Sample Sequential.

My friend suggested me to do some sequential samples and post it in here. This is a Hellboy sample sequential by my friend's script. Done in A4 bond paper and a pencil, I was going for the standard 11x17, but then again it couldn't fit in my scanner. However there are scanner who can scan the 11x17 but it's too expensive.

Critics are welcome.

Nice work. You do a cool Hellboy. I'm no artist but here are my thoughts anyway. Page 1, panel 4, I assume Hellboy's in a coffin but there is no sense of the coffin around him and in panel 5 there doesn't seem to be a coffin big enough to fit Hellboy. Page 2, It's cool to see Hellboy bursting out of the coffin but you don't get a sense of where he is in the room. Between the end of Page 2 and the start of page 3 Hellboy is facing the other direction. Also I have no idea what's happening to the creature's hand on page 3, what is it grabbing on to? Nice reveal on the last page but the background needs more detail. Like I said before, you draw a neat Hellboy but that right hand of his has to always be huge and solid looking.

I'm curious to see where you and your friend take this story.

you can scan 11x17 pages with a regular size scanner. scan the upper half first then the lower half, and attched it on photoshop.

yeah, I want to echo this. I was going to comment on these things as well.

I also want to add, the shattering coffin does not look like wood breaking at all. Maybe rock. But wood splinters, large pieces. Not tiny little shattering, like that.

I love the style. Facial work.
