Astonishing X-Men

Script by Micheal Buckley
In the first page I was trying to get that fish eye lens look for the buildings.

These are interesting. I think your faces and some of the anatomy need some work, but all in all it looks like you're well on your way.

I see the construction and perspective lines on the first panel on the third page. It's great that you take the time to set up the proper frame work for your scenes. Great job.

The one question I do have is that, given your obvious planning for the perspective on page 3, why is the building on the right side of the first panel on the first page leaning so badly? It's way out of whack but it's obvious, from the rest, that you do know how to properly set up and use perspective. Is the building supposed to lean like that?

Great stuff man! I easily read it through, although if I may give an advice, don't concentrate your work to much on rendering and detailed background. Always keep in mind that good/detailed rendering doesn't work if your perspective is off or the characters anatomy are off or not in proportion. Try studying more by drawing from life and not from comic books.

Hope I didn't offend you in any way, just wanted to give a friendly advice because I see a potential in your work =)

Funny Rex. Jay, I agree with the comments, but for me the tallest buildings in the BG are off, in the 1st panel page 1. Why because the perspective you got going here are distorted but in a way that I cannot understand. It looks like you have 1 point perspective with 2 point perspective all in one. Fix your vanishing points. The buildings on the right looks slanted like there gonna fall into panel 2. I know it would look fine if you fixed those building in the BG to match the perspective of the buildings closer to us. Reference buildings in this view, google. Besides this cool.
