Is it normal to show Christmas movies on Thanksgiving?

Happy Thanksgiving!

I notice now they are showing Christmas movies. Is it me, or are they showing them earlier and earlier every year? I wish they would show them when they used to, the last 2 weeks before Christmas. Maybe it's a sign of the economy?

Edit:

Yeah, sorry if people got confused, but I was talking about family movies, not action movies, lol.

How many Thanksgiving based movies are there? X-mas shopping official begins the day after X-mas.

Yeah, Christmas Shopping, but they didn't used to show Christmas movies this early.

And yes, they are showing commercials for Christmas shopping earlier and earlier as well.

I have seen X-mas based movies on all year. Christmas Vacation, I'll Be Home for Christmas, Christmas With the Kranks, The Grinch (Was on Last week), and others.

Stores were beginning to decorate in early September by me. It does nothing but keep my Christmas spirit hibernating even longer.

Yeah, that's getting earlier and earlier as well.

They showed Miracle on 34th Street today, I just thought that was kind of early. What gets me mad is that there are few Christmas movies during the last week before Christmas. Of course, it might be different if you have over 100 channels (I only have around 25 channels).

I don't mind too much if they play them today and on... I always think of today as the 'holiday season'. At the end of the big parade, they unleash Santa Claws on the public at large... so for me, he's kind of ushered in the holidays. Everyone's off today, and to play Miracle on 34th works out pretty well for me... it's when they start earlier than this, that it gets under my skin enough to ignore the holidays for a while.

The more advertising, the more you'll spend OR your kids will want!

Don't mind X-mas movies (even if virtually all of them are crap), but hate X-mas advertising - it kind of loses the whole message of giving and good will to man etc.

The Grinch could have been on early because of the show on Broadway opening. Were these on the movie channels?

Christmas with the Kranks is on FX in fact it was on today. I'll Be Home for Christmas is playing on Starz. Christmas Vacation was on Fox.
