Exclamation Back to it! - Editing last years Nano...

Hey, all-

Kind of excited about this, so I thought I'd share. After several months (almost a year!!) I'm back to work editing the novel I wrote last year for NaNoWriMo. Life has been crazy this last year, so the only writing I've done has been a short story or two. I kept putting off anything bigger until a few days ago when I just decided to start editing one chapter at a time. I finished chapter six today and, thankfully, so far I like what I'd written and am feeling very optimistic. It's sort of a dark, weird, horror/fantasy book (but not swords and sorcery type of fantasy). It's a new year and I hope to get this sucker polished and submitted.

I also figured by posting this, it'd keep me on track.

So, wish me luck! It's gonna be a long process.

You can't ask for luck, but I will give it to you anyway.

Good Luck!

Thankya. Already getting tough to stay on schedule with project deadlines hitting me all over and life getting in the way, and a total lack of sleep which leaves me unable to stay awake or focus on writing. But, I'm staying pretty well on track anyway. It'll be a slow process, but at least it's chugging along.

Do you already have a publisher for it?

Nope. Haven't quite gotten that far in my writing career yet. I've been trying to focus on the writing side first and when I'm comfortable and confident enough then I'll submit. Editors always tell you to hold your art/writing/whatever up next to professionals before submitting to see if it fits in. I'm getting there, I think (and hope!), so I'm just about ready to submit.

This is my fourth novel, I've sat on it for a year, and I'm going to try editing it a few times and then see if it holds up to other writers out there.

Don't know if it'll go anywhere, but I feel like this is a good one to start the submissions (and rejection slip) process with.
