803 Studios Announces Suicidal Line-Up
803 Studios announces the line up for their latest themed anthology: Sequential Suicide due out in 2007. The 88-page anthology will collect seven stories from independent contributors and four studio stories centered around the theme: Rottingwood Road. The submissions pile was mountainous, the competition steep, the decision difficult. But the results are in. And the winners are (in no particular order):
• “Down the Road” by Niall Presnall-Kelleher and Chris McJunkin • “Fall of the Triumvirate” by Elton Pruitt, Juan Romera and Kristen Simon • “The Confessional” by Grant LaFleche, Gary Brown and Thomas White • “Rotten Wood” by Kim Herbst • “Walking” by Mauricio Castro, Mark Gottlieb and Carlos A. Campos • “Rottingwood Road” by Ian Thomas, Shawn Tracy, and Kel Nuttall • “The Gunsmith” by Thomas Wells and Jessica Tanguay 803 Studios announced Sequential Suicide in July of 2006 after releasing the final issue of their flagship anthology 803. “We wanted something with a little more of a central theme and a vehicle that would allow us to publish very talented independent artists and writers that are being overlooked by the industry. Sequential Suicide allows us to do just that,” said founding partner Steven Prouse. Each year, Sequential Suicide will have a new theme. Rottingwood Road is an eerie road outside Columbia, SC where the studio is based. The stories included in Sequential Suicide explore that theme in a myriad of ways: from horror to comedy, action to sci-fi. The next year’s theme and deadlines will be announced in each issue of Sequential Suicide and on the studio’s website, www.803studios.net, after the release of the book.
