You think they might have learned by now, but they haven't.

First, there's a new website set up to sell comics in digitalformat. It's called Drive Thru Comics (http://comics.drivethrustuff.com/catalog/index.php)

You'll notice right away that in addition to the questionable web designs used for the site, the CSS confirms the worst of it:

.boxText { font-family: Comic Sans MS, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; }

Yup, it's all in Comic Sans.

The next one is a little more forgivable, since it dates back to 1999 or so, but still. . . Bill Morrison worked up a YELLOW SUBMARINE comics adaptation for Dark Horse that never made it to the shelves. Check out the story and the pages of art done for the book here:

http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=8433

Click on page 13 or 14. Yup, it's Whizbang.

The world will never learn, will it?

If you delete Comic Sans off your computer (like I did) you never have to be offended by it's use on a web site :D

Very good point.

Yeah, both the site and the comic are pretty miserable looking. What are you going to do? It's all subjective. Some people just have questionable taste and a poor design aesthetic. For example, some people love Humberto Ramos while I wonder how he manages to get work. :huh:

I could delete Comic Sans, but that would stop me from seeing every garish misuse of it and then rubbing the offending user's nose in it. Why should I let innocent people suffer? Someone must keep the crusade going. It's my one superheroic virtue.

Good news -- the site owner told me that they're still working on an "optimal site design." There's still hope for verdana or something else.
