I recently got a chance to do an interview for www.silverbulletcomics.com with Abdulkareem Baba Aminu, co-owner of Nigeria's first comic shop, Planet Comics. We also talked about the second comic convention to hit Nigeria that is currently taking place. Here's a snippet from the interview:
KA: Absolutely, a comic scene exists here, man. There [are] a huge number of comic book fans here in all the major cities and the opening of Planet Comics further proves that. We ran out of food in no time! Yeah, I wish we ran out of comics that fast, too, but…
The beauty of the scene here is we are not exposed to one genre or type alone. We have appreciators of Manga, French, Belgian, British and other comics. Though, American comics rule here, really.
