Haven't posted any images here for awhile, so I thought I go ahead and post this updated sketch of a character I'll probably be using in a comic book. This is actually Iris' (the character) second time being posted here. A different Iris sketch was posted here last year.

Enjoy.

I like the shadow/hatching on the torso, the neck seems a bit straight/stiff though. The length is ok just curve it into the trapezius a bit, looks like too sharp of an angle for a female, this is just a minor crit. Make a finished one and post that bad boy.

Looks pretty solid, let's see some more.

I agree with your crit on every point, JJ. I'll see if I can re-design or just add color and bring this one back later.

Destro, thanks! I'll post another image shortly. The 'Iris' image is an old drawing that was updated. The next image I will post will be a recent work.

Below is an image I completed just a couple of weeks ago. I had posted an uncompleted version of this elsewhere, but it didn't have the background I wanted. I think this piece with the added current background has the celestial spark and atmosphere that I was looking for originally.

This image was my update design of a character for a friend. I tried to come up with an appealing style, color, and the general look while also trying to retain his original dynamic appearance.

Although this is an older drawing, this image will give some idea of where I'm coming from when I try to create an image or a character. Big Bahgraa came from memories of ideas, influences, and actual people I've known in life. Baghraa looks menacing -- but, like the actual human being that inspired me to create this character, she actually has a heart of gold. Bahgraa is my memorial to that person.

Very nice!! Do you have any sequentials by chance??

Starfire

I do plan on putting up some sequential examples here in the near future, but for now you can find stuff at my website and a few more examples early next month. Thank you for asking.

You know what...I think I will post up a couple of sequentials here now afterall. But it will be drawings that are not as recent as the ones I'm working on now. At least you'll be able to see my interest on a project.

I have to do some scanning though, so I won't be able to get them up online just for now and it may be awhile. It'll just be a couple of pages as examples. ;)

Once I get this thing up I think it would be fair to stick these examples into the Sequential Arts thread.

Follow up: I'll have eleven sequential penciled pages up and posted by late this evening or tomorrow morning (from a 45 page book I did some years back but is still on the shelf for the moment). I'll let you know here when it's up.

Later.

Gang, I now have the images up in the Sequential display thread. I titled the thread Peter Cole In Trouble.

Thanks for being interested and for asking me, Destro and -JJ-.

Just a small note that the follow-up examples of this post are now in the Sequential Showcase area as 'Peter Cole In Trouble'.

Btw, for anyone that has already seen the pages over there, here's the cover I had in mind for the 2nd book at the time of its conception. Heh.;)

Some of you may have seen her already, but here is the captain of the crew on the spaceship Celestial Comet:

Space Captain Starshima

And I might as well end this gallery the way I started it -- with Iris.

The changes are slight, but I extended her shadow to the far lower left corner of the page, and I also gave her a 'joint' in her left arm (she looks like she doesn't have a joint for that arm in the first picture posted). And of course, I cleaned up the drawing since the cross-hatching lines were jumping out away from her dress. I also extended the staff down so that it appears farther away and in front of her.

Still wish I knew where she lived, though.

Later, gang. :)

This is a new version of the drawing with the Serpent. It's an updated version of the cover I had posted on the Sequential Arts thread sometime back. Hope you like it.

Detective Nayoko of the Galaxy Agents (the hair is shorter on one side because I heard that this is the fashion in the future GA time period). Btw, this is the same character in the 18 X 24 Galaxy Agents Strategy Session drawing.

Hope you guys enjoyed some of this stuff.

Bye now.
