Bracket 1 Round 2 Group 3 is
DwcIllustrator, ethanWright, Great Scott, jaxel, Mitze, NGoff, Press Oblivion, Rex, sevans, The Bionic Cl@m

I am not providing reference for this round. Your subject is:
Star Wars : Revenge of the Sith
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0121766/
Padme and General Grievous at a bar each having a drink

This is a double elimination tournament but no shows don't get a second chance. All art show be posted in the the art thread. The art thread for this group is:
http://www.digitalwebbing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97410

From this group 5 will move into the Bracket 1 Round 3
All the rest that are not no shows will move into Bracket 2 next week.

The art can be in any stage of completion and in any medium, but it has to be your art and it has to be in the art thread by the deadline.

The deadline is 2 September 2006 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time (currently GMT-4).
If your art is not in the thread within 6 hours of that time, you will be considered a no show.
If your art changes after that time, you will be considered a no show.
If your art post is edited after that time, you will be considered a no show.

The subject can be interpreted as loosely (within reason) as you wish. If I'm vague, it's purposely vague. However if when reference is provided that should be the reference used.

Have fun.

Ummm...not that I'm I'm a ginormous Star Wars geek or anything :whistlin: but I just remembered something. Padme was pregnant in Revenge of the Sith...what kind of mom-to-be would be sittin' in a bar!!!?? Shame on her! Unless, of course, it's a salad bar!

I don't remember seeing anyone smoke in Star Wars and maybe she's having a glass of milk while trying to get Grevious to surrender peacefully.

Question - I've got what I think is a good idea for my concept, but grievous isn't drinking in it. I don't think he actually has a mouth or a stomach anyway...

Would this type of drawing still be acceptable?

Put a straw going up under his mask.

I don't mean to rub it in by any means but you guys got a tough one.

Can he be holding a drink? Or a glass be somewhere around him?

I think the idea is to be creative...and not take it too seriously or too literally. Have a little fun with it guys! ;)

Why is Natalie Portman so hard to get a likeness of? Big lips, dark eyes, strong jaw... should be easy. Oh well, I've got mine posted.

Just checked out some of the entries in the art thread. All of them are dang good!
I'm not gonna come close to getting my entry in...no time whatsoever to spare!
Best wishes to all those who are still in it to win it.

Just got of my arse and submitted a pic. Already some nice work in there.

Jaxel - Great General Grievous. And nice t-shirt too.
DwcIllustrator - Love the cheesy line.
Rex - Why didn't you add in some f**kin detail. I think that you fitted enough characters in there. :whistlin:
Mitze - Nice ink work.

This is going to be an interesting mix of art. Hope that the others get their pics in.

Well I uploaded mine. I took liberties with them "each having a drink".

By the way everyone, if I could offer a piece of advice...never, ever apologize for your art!

Rex

Yeah man! I ran out of time same as the rest of us. In fact, that's why I titled it "Grievious flicking a peanut," so I wouldn't have to apologize for making the peanut look like a booger or something! But I'm trying to play it off like I did everything exactly the way I wanted to. I guess this post ruins that effect, though...
No one read this post, ok?

I don't care what your peanut looks like Rex. I laughed out loud when I saw your entry. Very funny.

Jeez, Press! You never cease to amaze me! Love the image in the background!

Your work inspires me to become a better artist. Thank you!

I don't mean to ignore the rest of you, by the way. This is one tough group! A lot of talent and great art! Great job!

Press, you never fail to astonish me with your ingenuity in creating mood in a single cell. You may have some minor issues here and there in execution (though none I can find in this piece) but you always have an incredible sense of dynamic.
Kinda cheating a bit though with the screen image. I thought the rules stated that each piece must be original work, not something you drew a while ago.
