A lot of folks post that they use Adobe illustrator and photoshop as part of the comic art process and I have a small amount of information about people perfoming coloring with Photoshop (that surprised me!) but i can find zip for info regarding what they use illustrator for.

Ok, I've see a couple illustrations but (and I may be being dense, I admit) do most folks who use illustrator use it to sorta replace the pencilling process?

I would appreciate all the info I can get regarding this subject.

So one could use paintshop pro or something like that? Can one do coloring in illustrator too?

Most people use it for lettering like J said, but it's main uses are logo design, magazine layout etc.

I only discovered photoshop coloring about a week ago, I don't know if any pro's use PS for coloring but it looks just as good as any other kind.

Can one do coloring in illustrator too?

Only on logo's, text and speech bubbles.

And those types of things usually have a single non graduated color.
