Oxygen Tolerant
By: D.C. Lee
Synopsis: His name, you wouldn’t be able to pronounce unless your tongue was pronged and you had three sets of vocal cords. However, the rough translation would be “The North by Northwest Lord High Empress: Flounder.” He is an Emilian (ee-mill-ian), a 6’5” tall, 219 pound blue leopard insectoid biped. He is an expert in his temple’s three forms of negotiation. He has negotiated with warmongers, barons, and criminal bosses on 17 planets. He has seduced pirates, witches, and generals within five galaxies. And he has sacked over 200 races of creatures that dared to oppose him. All was going well for him until a band of pirates kidnapped him and prepared to sell him into sexual slavery. But with the help of his imprisoned comrades, they took the ship over and crashed it on a small planet. The planet’s surface was 2/3s water, with a population with in the trillions. It had multiple life-forms of different species of flora and fauna upon it. It is known as Earth. And so…bloody, exhausted, and on death’s door, he and his comrades were brought in by the sexist and egomaniacal Dr. Fischer. Sadistically curious, the Doctor brutally experimented on those all around Flounder. It was only a matter of time before the Empress planned an escape. But this time, they were stopped. However Flounder would get the last laugh. As he was being brought back to his cell, he “frothed”. Clamping down on his captor’s forearm, the Emilian “blessed” Fischer with his royal family’s “gift”. Stunned by what the creature did all he could do was stare on as Flounder uttered his first intelligible words “It’s only a matter of time.” Now the young leader waits in his cell for the opportunity to make his move. Or has he already made it?
It’s a cat and mouse story between a prisoner and his captor that has been turned upon its ear and put in the spin cycle. Crazy enough for almost any fan of Japanese Manga to enjoy, and action packed enough for any fan of Western Comics to sit down and have a four color adrenaline rush to.
