I'm personally of the oppinion that the first may be more colorist friendly or is this just style?

That's a great pic by dario. I'd have to say I like the originall inks a lil better. The second pic definitely pops out more because of the heavy border inks on the monster. Maybe you went overboard will the lines around him for the style your trying to achieve? On the phariah comic do you do your inking with a quill and a majority of the figure work freehand?

Nice artwork on ebay of pariah hmmm, wish i coud buy it but I'm sooo broke! How about $15dollarz for the page and $1 dollar shippn and handling?

That's a fine piece of inking there. Absolutely love the idea of you refining the second piece. I think you did a good job in separating the elements in front and the background. Good technique in using your materials. Though i would still like to see the halo around the monster in the 1st attempt remained.
Keep em coming, man.

First off! AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
You saw my page on ebay! That's really funny and makes me happy! How'd you find it there? Just random or did you look? I gotta know. :nyah:
I just started messing around with ebay and wanted to see what happened if I put one my original pages up -I have the reserve way up in the 90's.
As far as inking pryor to this I used 102 quils and black magicink. I'm being mentored a bit by Kevin Conrad (amazing vet inker). Ever since this page Kevin has turned me on to Nib 103 and white out spotting. I've actually improved my "sweeps" and "long sweeps" tremendously since this page. I also use W&N series 7 sable brush #2, Rotring rapidogrphs .5/.35/.25. some sharpe here an there but I try to stay away from those. I also clean up pages in photoshop alot.
In pariah I 'm Penciler/inker. I used to be really loose with may pencils on that book but now I make them as tight as I can. Well worth the extra time and effort in the long run.
I kinda liked the halo too - I'll have to put it back to see what happens. Halo's are funny elements. I just got done scouring Mads Fan site and the halos work for his art. Great site too! but for others it just does'nt work. I'll throw it back in a see what you think.
Thanks,
~D

Hey David, I found your art on ebay comics-o-rama by just checking out all the original comic art pages. I like looking for comic art all over the web. I collect the best images then put them on a cd. You got your own folder on my cd titled David Miller 2006. I get top dollar for these cd's I make each year. $$$$$$$$$$$ :whistlin:
Just kidding  I trade them to a artist friend of mine.

Congrats! That was a nice article. Did my eyes  deceive me or were those images with the article not inked. It looked like penciled art that went straight to colors. You got some splaining to do lucy(ricky ricardo style as in i luv lucy)

awesome inking!! I see that your feathing needs a bit of work. A peciler can lean his pencil and get different shades of grey. We can't we have to create it with black ink. At the top of th crumbled cieling you need to blind the white a bit more into the solid black. Try going over it with some Martin's bleed proof (white Out) and a water color brush to add more crack and texture oer the solid black.
Over all Miller you work ROCKS!!

Thanks Zpro1
The pics in the article look like they mighthave been scanned in from the printed newspaper. I think the pic quality is just poor. All the Pariah stuff is inked. There's only the 13 demony poster on the Pariah site that's never made it to inks.
Jimmy! Thanks for the comment and suggustion. I've been useing alot of white on my latest pages. I'm starting to enjoy breaking up the black with it. I'm more confident adding the white now.

that's
just
gorgeous
nice work
and you're right one does seem a tad more colorist friendly than the other. However i'm thinking whoever colors this would have to be a patient saint PERIOD. That's a HELL of alot of detail. Great work!
