Wondering if anyone can identify this font, or at least A font closest to it, since the logo for this film was made in the early 70s. I'm only talking about the big font in the middle which looks covered with cracks. If you don't know the film that's ok, its only one of the longest running films in India, ran in some theaters for over 20 years. I wanted to replicate this style for a logo I'm working on.

Thanks for all the help, this is the ONLY forum I frequent because of all the proffessionals on it.

Oh, and I totally forgot about this one. This is the futurama font that they use in their title cards and their logo, its really art deco (?) and I love the style. I'm not sure if they made this in-house, because I've recognized other fonts in the show that are available commercially.

Here's the font they use in their credits.

And their logo font.

There's a bigger logo here (http://www.antoniogenna.net/simpson/futurama/sfondi/1024x768FuturamaLogo.jpg) but I didn't want to use it in the forums because it might be too big.

What's really odd is, in that "Sholay" logo, those cracks are EXACTLY how Xenofex (a photoshop plugin) would apply it (using the "baked earth" plugin). Are you sure that's the original logo for the movie? Not a more recent "re-release" with new box art/graphics?

As for the futurama font, it's generally not too hard to find out there. (and ironically, I think it's basically a slightly modified futura font).

Oh hell yeah, that logo I've seen and known since I was a child, and it's been copied ever since. Thanks for telling me about the baked earth plugin, now my own logo will look even better.
If anyone can identify a font that's close to the SHOLAY font that's fine with me. I mean I suppose I could use a sans font and modify it to my own use, but I'm still not sure which font that would be. I just need an approximation.

for the SHOLAY logo I think that Drop Case by Comicraft would work nicely (you'll have to modify it, of course)

best of luck with the logo.
