All finished pieces must be posted to this thread. No comments should be made in this thread until the poll is posted.
The poll will be posted on 20 August 2006 near 12:01 am.
Keep discussions in the discussion thread until that time.

The subject for this week is Zandor versus a lizard man. See the discussion thread for reference.

Well guys, thanks for the votes. :blink:

I voted for ChrisK, not only because I said he deserved it for being first but I liked his use of all the characters. I wanted to do that myself. Good job.

I voted for NaeNae because I'm secretly in love ... no no no ... :p ... It was funny and again, use of all the characters. :)

And Nick Em ... loved the rendering. Really dug your take on the lizardman. A lot of what I voted for in this week's challenge was based on the lizardman.

Dang but they are fabulous pieces! There are great points in each... It's so hard to pick a favorite.....I can't choose between naenae, j giar and Dannthr....but then Ron's...and Chris..... I'm just glad I'm not the one who'll choose the winner! :)

Thanks Jedi! Yeah, I'm glad I entered it. I've gotten out of the habit of working with a deadline..it felt good pushing myself to get this done.. There are alot of talented folks on here...so you have to keep your game up.
Which is why the colors on my peice pissed me off so much. I almost bailed on it about 2/3rds of the way through..but stuck with it and finished it.
If you really want to see what I wanted it to turn out like go to the post in the art thread. Fresco punched it up for me...it looks the way I envisioned it in my head... :laugh:
To answer your question I used water colors....If I had it to do it all again I would have inked it and then used water colors.... But I had a blast doing it..took me back to art school days. :cool:

I was disappointed with how my piece ended up! My colors just washed out..I'm inking next round...if I make next round. Nice job everyone.

My point was you spent an hour on yours and you still whooped my ass comin out of the gate. :laugh: ..I spent like 8 to 12 hours on mine and I'm struggling to keep up!

I thought yours was the best piece in this group, with Nae's second. I love the layout, and regardless of any problems with the colors, the whole thing is nicely illustrated and pops.

Nae, yours is just hilarious.

Just a quick note.
Despite what the poll state all voting closes at 11:59:59 Eastern TONIGHT!
Round 2 will start then. There will be some changes to the voting time in Round 2 so that Round 3 will start BEFORE the weekend of September 9 and 10 (Baltimore Comicon).

ROUND 2 begins as soon as I get all the threads posted early tomorrow morning.

Bah. The cursive linework on your Zandor is rocking and I love the premise. I think the lizardman having a blaster of sorts is pretty inventive--the thought didn't even cross my mind.
