No it isn't based on the "Star Trek" episode. Open criticism is once again welcomed.
Mirror/Mirror
By: D.C. Lee
Synopsis: The Champion Mirror is a legendary and highly coveted item. It is said that whoever looks deeply into the mirror will become the champion they are inside. They will be given amazing abilities and powers that no normal mortal could comprehend. Both good and evil have had possession of the item, and the repercussions have been immense. That was until “The Great Battle” happened. The mirror was finally destroyed by a great wizard only going by the moniker The Saxon. He scattered the pieces across the planet believing that since the mirror wasn’t complete, it would be useless…how wrong he was. Pieces have been found from time to time and fashioned into all sorts of items: a pocket watch, a shield, a wrist band, a gauntlet, and many more. Though exposure to these shards is only temporary and due to their various sizes; limited to certain amounts of time, those that hold these precious items MUST be very careful. The only question is which path they will follow? Will the one that bears the “Firesign” fight for virtue, and will the “Watchman” keep to the shadows? The stories of each of these individuals and the items they come upon will be told. Each one intersecting with the others until all the pieces fall into place and the questions will be answered. Not every story is jolly and not every ending is a bad one. But neither side must succeed in conquering the other. For the old adage goes: A candle, no matter how bright, will always cast a shadow, for the darkness needs light to know its cause.
This story centers around the one known as “Firesign” His real name is Lt. William Pyre, a man who did two tours in the Middle East and came back with a “lucky charm” a glass blown bracelet for his girlfriend that was kept in a small brown leather bag. A strange little merchant fleeing from cloaked assailants randomly gave it to him “…because it told him to do…” Being told not to open the little bag until the time is right; William fights the temptation to open the pouch. That is, until there’s a situation on the plane he’s heading home in.
