Could anybody close to Redding, California... Or at least 35 miles from it on highway #5 private message me?
The car died and Ray managed to call me before their phone died, and they're stuck on the highway.

Well, I tried to walk Ray fixing the car over the phone, but that didn't work, so I looked up the local Highway Patrol office, and a towing company.
I assume they're fine, they stopped calling anyway...

no calls = no problems. unless there last words on the phone where "what could happen" or "please I'm not scared"

They're okay by the way. I talked to them today and they made it to Brookings, dead car and all.

How dead is it? Impossible to fix dead? Perma-dead? Or just broken down dead?
Jon Dahl

It's "Ray" dead. Meaning he'd not mechanically inclined enough to tell me what I needed to know for an idea.
I narrowed it down to this:
Airflow is blocked, possibly the MAS.
Fuel line is blocked, or pump has stopped working.
Coil is fried.

ARGH fiddlesticks, I knew it was one of the two.
Heard anything or is their phone "Ray dead" too?

They're fine, just stuck in Oregon until the car gets fixed.

What? You can't work from "It just won't start... it makes a clicky noise, then a whurrr-urrr-urrr... then nothing"?!?

How can you be fine and stuck in Oregon at the same time? Doesn't seem possible.

transmission.
I told them that before they left.
But no, it won't start, not start and won't go.

Umm, that's a good question. I'll ask them when they get back and are safe and sound in good ol' Salina, Kansas.

Car's fixed (hopefully for good) and we'll either be leaving at some point in the next three days (depends on hotel prices over the weekend).

Are you doing okay? :(

Yeah, we're alright :har: We haven't been killed and eaten by crazed Oregon hill-folk (yet) .
We got stranded twenty miles south of Redding, CA, just went ka-pootz in the middle of the I-5. Luckily my friend Ry was nice enough to drive five hours to get me and tow us on a car trailer alllll the way to Brookings. ( thanks a million Ry :) )
What actually happened to the car was some wires got too close to the engine and they melted together, shorting out the computer. It took the mechanic DAYS to figure it out. But it's fixed now, and he says it should get us to Kansas safely, though the timing belt should be replaced due to mileage.
But the time here was nice so far. Stayed at my son's grandmas house, who was kind enough to give us somewhere to sleep for a week. SO thanks Wendy :har: She's the best.
(here she is standing with stranded ol' me)

So, anwyays, thanks for caring everyone, especially you Jon. Hopefully we'll be home soon  Just pray we don't break down in the middle of the Salt Lake flats or something this time!

Dirk Manning will have no sympathy concerning these "car troubles" (I had those two when I was with my girlfriend in high school and we were out having fun ALLLLLLLLLL the time) when it comes to the story you two crazy kids are doing together for NIGHTMARE WORLD in September.
That is all.
SINcerely,
Dirk Manning
P.S.-- If these various reports of "car trouble" *ARE* true... which I doubt, I'm glad to hear you two are doing well. Now just don't get any tickets in your rush to get home...

Renae could have just batted those beautiful eyes a bit and some dude would be like, "Ya, sure. Take my Car... Well It's my wife's, but oh well!"
lol. I think it could happen. :carrot:
