Hi Guys,

Here's page 8 from my comic. What do you think? Any crits or comments?

Hey. You'll probably get more responses over in the Sequential thread, which is where this belongs (and will probably get moved to).

I really like what's going on with the colors. I'll note that the big goblin's face is colored a little too darkly in the bottom right panel, I'd suggest lightening that up a tad.

Drawing wise, I'd recommend pulling the camera back some for panel 1. It seems a bit cramped with the big fella' and all. I think panel 2 is the best of the bunch. It just works really well.

I'm trying to figure out if there are inks happening here or if the pencils were left and colored over. The reason I note this is because it appears as though, in parts, the colors are thinning out and covering up some of the line work.

The artwork is great, the color scheme suits the genre really well, and the second frame in particular piques my interest. Think the biggest thing this page is suffering from is a lack of firm linework. It looks like most of your beautiful details are getting lost and breaking away... not sure whether you're coloring straight over light pencils, or whether it's just a bad scan, but it looks pretty patchy in places and this really detracts from the finished quality of the page.

A smaller point to keep in mind for future pages is to vary your `camera angle' more. Aside from that one bird's-eye view, everything else is more or less a straight-on shot from a middle distance. Try some more challenging perspectives to give the space a more solid three-dimensional feel and add some extra interest for the eye.

Finally, you'll probably find that this page gets moved to the Sequential Art forum by one of the Mods... that's technically where it belongs.

Looks like you've got a cool story happening here, I'd love to see more... do you have links to the other pages you have so far?

Edit: Heh heh... Chris beat me to the punch with most of my points. I gotta learn to type faster! :p

Thanks for the crits! Sorry, I'll post in the Seq. Showcase next time. Yeah, I see what you mean on the camera angle. Will work on that.

No inks, just pencils and colors.

I'll post some more stuff soon.
