Hi, this is a post for a comic book I'm producing called 'The Risk Society'......I have sent the pitch to a publisher and i'm waiting for a response. I would love to hear what you guys think about it, as I've started a 'blog' that is going to work as a diary from concept to published. I'll be putting up sketches and ideas as i go along. I thought it would be interesting to follow it on it's journey..........i hope you'll take a look over there.

The Risk Society could be described as Ray Harryhausen meets Jules Verne, a Victorian adventure story with a mix of science and fantasy played out in a backdrop of industrial invention.

Here's the link: http://therisksociety.blogspot.com/

You'll find out more regarding the concept........hope to hear from you

Cheers

Paul

Paul,

I like the look of this...I have a project on the back-burner that is similar in tone but closer to Jules Verne...I like the visuals on the blog with the character sketches inside an old book. Nice touch. I'm not a fan of the logo though. RISK is cool but the "The" and "Society" are too small (in my opinion). I would make Society fit inside the "fangs" of the R and K. And then whatever size that is...make the "the" the same size. I think it would read better. Again, just my opinion - for what it's worth. Other than that...great presentation. I'd like to see more. Good luck finding it a home.

I'd buy it! (if the writing is as good as the art)

And I agree with Steve on the logo.

Very nice artwork, looks almost like a new Mignola book. Great tones in the colouring, creating a great atmosphere.

I agree with the other comments about the Logo.

Looks like a great concept, hope that the pitch goes well and that the story is as strong as the artwork.

Faaa... Jeez', I know I'd pick that thing up in a second if it was presented to me. Holy rip-chord.

Need I say... Very nice?

I checked it out here and the blog. Just beautiful work. Some of the character sketches varied in style a little bit I thought. The couple of sequential pages/panels you've posted look beautiful. I'd pick this up in a heartbeat.

I'd buy it also, concept of characters and time period look awesome. Those covers are simply unbelievable! The sequentials look great as well but those covers... dang, when I saw those I dropped my pencil, shaved my head and became a buddhist monk. O.k. maybe not but for a split second I considered it. Awesome and discouraging at the same time for a fellow artist!

Hey, Paul. I dig the work. I'm always writing something set during the Victorian Age. How did you hook up with the writer?
