Oh mighty lettering gods, I come to you seeking wisdom once again...
I'm working on my first colored pages and having a bit of trouble. Namely, my white type is dropping out of the picture when I save the file as a TIF. I'm sure the answer is simple and accessible in Illustrator's vast help index, but I'm not really sure where to look.
Can anybody offer any help, or point me in the direction of a fail-proof checklist?
Thanks in advance!

click on the white text and then go to SELECT>SAME FILL (to select all of the white type on the page at once). Then click on your ATTRIBUTES palette and turn OFF the overprint fill (use it only on black or really dark items).
hope that solves it,

Yup, i wish there was a way to default certain colors to overprint and others to NOT overprint. This is a really embarrassing problem if you don't notice before the book is printed (which, sadly, happened to me once).

Well at least now I don't feel quite so stupid.
Thanks, Jason and Kep, I'll see if that does the trick.
