Here is some work I did on this pic I drew for the DWP ANG43 thread...

with the rework and the inks you show here...it makes it very obvious that the first image is really the best. its detailed...and dramatic and really cool. the reworked face is okay...maybe the chin is better shaped than on the origional. but its not a huge deal.
but the inks arent looking good. rough and just...ugly im sorry to say. they took away ALL the beauty of your pencils in that first drawing. its a problem that i have all the time. my inks suck.

so...i dont think the reworks made anything better. that top image... kicks ass the way it is.

Way to call it like you see it Rob! Thanks for taking the time to post...I have to agree with you....I wasn't too happy with the way the inks were coming out myself --guess that's why I stopped!

Karza had been working on inking and coloring this pic.....I wanna see what he comes up with!

I gotta agree with Rob, CW. I really dig your pencils, but to be perfectly honest (and brutal) I think your inks ruin the art.

When I was reading your recent episode of ASJ41 (http://uggabugga.net/asj41/chapters/index.htm) I kept thinking "who the hell inked this? This is awful. He's ruining the pencillers work with almost every line!" (though to be fair to you, the colors aren't great either.)(Nor were my inks on ASJ41 episode 11 pg. 5...) and when I saw it was you, it made sense to me, I'm sad to say.

Now I understand the want to ink your own pencils. It's nice that it's YOU that does all the art. And for what I know, you've had inkers ruin your pencils. But I think you should let other inkers take a shot at your stuff. Christ, I'd do it if I had the time (if you sign up for a future ASJ41 ep. let me know and I'll do the inks, if I have the time).


Sorry if I came off as an asshole... I mean the best, really.

The Inker for ASJ #12 bailed and I did the Pencils and inks to fill the crunch for time....This sped it up a bit as I did not have to do really tight pencils...but yeah- My inking is still in the development process....

I am currently working on the pencils for issue 15- They don't have an inker for this one...If you want to try it go on over to the ugga bugga board and sign on....I would really like to not worry about the inks and concentrate on doing good pencils.....

Cool. I'll check out the pages for #15 and see if I can squeese them in. I'm already doing inks on #17, editing on #19 and writing #20, so I'm not really sure. But if they're not TOO detailed, I might be up for it. Either that or a cover at some point? I think we still need a cover for #17...? Otherwise how about #19?
