Hey,
I saw this short comic over on the DE-ACT-I-VATE LiveJournal group and that the word balloons were awesome in how they added subtext and meaning to the story.

Check it out:

The artist's name is Hyeondo Park.

It works well as an "art piece" but if I had to read a graphic novel like that I'd stab myself in the eyes with a saws-all.

It would be interesting to see in a story, if used sparingly.

It was clever for a short comic.

And that would both hurt, and be very difficult to get just your eyes

Very interesting. Didn't that guy do some work for DC / Pirahna Press's Big Book of...Series? I lettered a lot of those stories and this guy's work looks familiar.

Not unless he did it at a young age. He appears to be in his early 20s based on his website: http://portfolio.hanaroda.net/aboutme.html.
