SCROLL DOWN! :)
this is a detail of my work in progress sequential pages
im working in a totally new way
i do all of my layout in photoshop print onto bristol blueline backgrounds and perspective grids and then work right on top of that with graphite.
as soon as i have the character roughed out i move in with brush pens and india ink.
im still working out the kinks but i think this is a good direction for me

i wasnt going to finish the inks tonight... but i was sitting around bored and just said dammit i'll just finish it up.... so here it is... about three hours of work maybe more...really that is slow for me... ive been trying to slow down a bit... that is why i got into the blue line to graph out perspective.
i really like this page and once i get it colored i think it will really show.
i like ink but nothing beats seeing ur work colored
i got distracted pretty easily today! lunch with the lady, bike rides, tv... but i still punched out a finished inked page

Im totally digging your style very fluid and organic, sweet inking, love the look, perspective grids really pop that first panel
cool stuff dude
keep it up

thanks mike!
im really trying to push my skills forward... i felt that with my last project i learned a lot about storytelling but sort of let my drafting skills go... im just trying to get some back.
for me this is a big step forward and im looking forward to my next day off so i can get a page or two up here.

keep the crits comming!

ok sorry for the lapse in pages... i worked like 60 some hours this week at my day job and will probably have to do more next week!

here is a work in progress of the second page of the spidey story.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v196/thecarrierone/wipap2.jpg

the basic story i am working from is that since civil war #2 every villian has had the opportunity to whack those close to pete. here we have spidey crawling into a hospitol window, wolvie is guarding somebody but you wont get to find out till the next page who it is

final inks.... ugh....
i can do better... i thought that it would serve my best interest to work at the size i am but i think i have to go back to 10x15 ish... i feel really constricted on this size.

this page put the nail in the coffin for drawing at actual size.... i gotta go back to drawing big.... im feeling clausterfobic!
its been a fun excersize though... ive learned a lot so far.
im going to do the last page and color it up and that will be the last time i work this small.

Hey carrier, Go back to working big man. You're making it to hard on yourself. You'll make your eyes go bad....like me!
I really like the first page of spidey..especially the 3rd panel!!! I think drawing bigger will help you put more detail into your work and when it's shot down it will tighten everything up! You're making alot of progress fast!! Keep it up!

the only thing ill miss about working small is being able to print layouts from photoshop... maybe i should buy a bigger printer....
