This is something I whipped up. Kinda' on the dark side but why not. What I'd love to see what some of you can do with the coloring though. Give it a shot.

Wow..... very cool imagery, I like the contrast... would look good in muted cel colours.... Can't really give a critique on the inks because of the stylization but it's very crisp and suits the line style :) Could be maybe a little edier but that's just my personal opinion ^_^
Edit: the mesh of the stained glass pattern is lopsided and changes in every window, intentional?

I'm looking at th origional and you're right. I thought I had been more thorough in using one ruler for the job, but there are deffinately places it doesn't line up. Weird.
Thank's for the heads up.

Can you e-mail me a hi-res scan? I'd like to color it.

Wow. This is really cool. I love the emotion in it. Lighted windows, and darkness over Kurt. Nice job.

OK, TBDC.... I sent them earlier today at 300 res. It ended up being 8.6 megs and the coloring job I've done so far has mad it rediculously huge. Hope yours is coming along better than mine. Getting frustrated here.

You don't happen to have a scan of the pencils do you :D

Sorry, no pencils. this is a scan of the origional. I have only just started to keep my pencils untouched. I always dive right into inks 'cause it seems more "finished' that way, but you'll see pencils from me soon..... probably easier to correct that way.

Just scan them in before you ink them  Actually.... I'll PM you my email or something anyways.... maybe I can try inking that like it were pencils for fun sometime :)

impressive. i love the smoke from his mouth too. Very eerie piece. The blacks are so solid, some feathering might've spiced it up, but it still looks so good.

Having read eveyones replys, I'm thinking that the coloring job I did really, really sucks.
Because eevry single one of you are right....it is kinda' creey. Boy did I take this in the wrong direction witht he colors. I'm starting over. and when it's done, I'll post'em both and you guys can decide.
I really appreciate the input...back to the drawing board/easel/wacom/mouse pad.

The scene really reminds me of a Jan Kolk picture of Kurt in a Cathedral, but this is pretty cool regardless.

AARRGGG. I really hope I didn't just do something the same as someone else. I don't know who Jan Kolk is but if you find the pic, post it here 'cause now I'm desperate to find out what you're talking about.
I also wanna' see it if it's colored. I'm in the process of redoing all the colors. Most of the responses I've gotten have suggested a direction that I deffinately didn't go in. Once it's done, I'll post'em both and let everyone else decide which one works best.

I started working on this last night. (Been busy with the SPA Idol and am working on a cover to The Cadre) I had a question though. Is that a flame coming from his mouth? My wife and I were debating whether it was flame or it was just really cold in the church. :har:
Also, where did you post your colors? I didn't see them.

It's actually the little "flame/teleporty" thing. In the Ultimate X-Men line, the color of his fire 'n brimstone is yellow and orange instead of pink and purple.
I neevr posted the colors. one is finished, but I'm doing them over in a different pallette. I'll post them together eventually.
