A cover from the new Judo Girl miniseries :)

I was asked to only ink the characters and the glass shards, and the background was painted in from the pencils afterwards. I used my brush, grabbing my Micron 005 for JG's irises (I attempted to do some of the smaller glass pieces with the Micron too but it wasn't working very well).

Pencils by Logan Lubera:

Someone asked me to post a closeup of the ink when I put it in my DA gallery, so there's one here (http://www.deviantart.com/view/34267536/) .

Ya know Diana,,,it would be much easier to see your work without those "inks by Diana" things all over the place. Secondly,,,where are the buildings?

The buildings are painted in later  , as she stated above, but I got to agree with you, I canīt make out the work bacause of all the copyright crap. I mean we know its you who posted these why putting all this stuff across your work? It is really distracting

Best

Rob.

By the way, what I can make out it looks ok so far.

Mecha,
The outside lines of all the figures are too similiar to the interior and feathering lines. The don't have to be John Dell or Tim Townsend thick, but should have a distinct difference between them. Subtle increases of weight will give the figures more pop.

Also the glass shards should have very thin lines. They are glass, which because of reflective properties does not appear to have much substance.

Good luck
Larry

Vandal: Sorry, I used the same image that I posted in my deviantArt gallery.... unfortunately there's a problem with art thieves on DA and I've been hit twice with my inks (how lame is that?). If you check this thread again I've reuploaded the non-marked ink ^_^;; Sorry about that guys. I'll use nonmarked copies for the forum :)

Larry: Yeah I have a heavy hand and was trying really hard on this one to be lighter, and tried to use thinner to heavier lines from Judo Girl's upper body to the villain's lower body to help with the depth. I also, to be completely honest, didn't know how to ink glass ;) I learned after it lol. I'm learning textures and techniques as I go along. Thanks for the tip though!

heh.. I have the high res to that one as Darren wanted me to be the colourist for him on it.

Unfortunately the wife vetoed it because of the knickers and *view* of judo girl and since there wasn't any money involved being bluewaterproductions... I passed on it in the cause of domestic peace.

A bit of money would've seen me colour it though...

but at least I still have the complete high res all nicely inkd! :P

Glad to see I'm not the only colorist having to deal with that issue. I'm not big on the cheesecake for the sake of cheesecake anyway, but when it seems like 75% of the art out there is being done to lure the h*rny young male demographic into comics, it can be a little difficult finding something that I would like to work on and that my wife will approve of. :man:
