Great minds think Alike I guess. Don't want to steal your show or anything, but I thought I'd post up my version to give you an idea on what to work on.
The thing I notice on yours is that the hair lines on yours are much to thin. They need to be defined to give the character..well....character. Keep in mind "Depth" when you're inking. Some of the places within your piece don't quite POP the way they should, and that's because the holding lines are very thin.

Ok, the first posting of BC was cleaned up a bit in Photoshop and I went a little crazy with the levels. This is the original from my scan. Thanks for the pointers. That was my mistake the first time. :)

Giddy: at first I thaught you posted the pencils. Remeber inks need to enchance the line art. Good Luck to both of you.

Yo Jimmy....nice to see ya 'round here again. But seriously, if ya couldn't tell I posted the inks without the pencils....you need glasses bro. J/K. However, I don't want to take this thread away from the original poster, so I only posted my inked version. And it's not like Campbell leave's you much to really Pop out and clean up....but you do what you can, where you can.

Actually Moreinsorrow's inks shine very nicely and I think the finer details were handled really well. Giddy's is really heavy in comparison and weighs down the more delicate lines.

I know this thread is already a little old, but I only just found it. Apologies.
Still, seeing as though I've inked it for practice too, I thought I'd throw in my version against those posted by More in Sorrow & Giddy (not in an overtly competitive way).

Each version of the inks got better and better but I think I like the last one by mistermostyn. He clearly defines the old man's cane so it does'nt look like a piece of doo-doo coming out the guys back. Oh yeah you guys could of put more emphasis on the cane, the robots head and the glove the girl is wearing on the bottom. By putting a bolder line around those parts of the image you could of created a nice holding pattern to the piece giving it a nice upside down pyramid pattern of cohesiveness. Who knows what I'm saying I'm not even a pro yet? :whistlin:
Keep up the good work guys. Hey now where did that darknight dude go he can ink his ass off?

Thanks, man.
Good to know someone thinks I did a solid job on that.

Wow, I can't actually tell the difference in the first the third and Giddy's. Obviously I don't have an inking eye. Oh GOD!!! I'm just a tracer!!!
(Your stuff looks good to me.)

Oooh Myyyy Gooodd this is soooo wonderful :bounce: I want to ink this but I will be using Photoshop, however I have gotten lot of negative critics about using Photoshop for inking, everywhere people say you should do it traditionally, so before I start "wasting" my time again, what is your suggestion, is digital inking good for nothing ? :carrot:
