This is an interesting looking comic. The thing about black and white comics, especially ones without any gray toning or very little, is that it can be hard at times to tell what is going on. So, as an artist, it's good to take extra care that what is being put down on paper is easy to follow.

That fly character on the top panel on the third page can stand out a lot more. To me eye, he's kind of getting lost in the busy background. If that word balloon wasn't coming from him, I don't think I'd know what he was supposed to be. I think detail and line weight are the areas to work on to make things in situations like that easier to understand. Perhaps give the fly a bolder outline and make it more detailed, and maybe make the background less detailed.

Also, it may be a good idea to practice drawing/inking water. I can tell what it's supposed to be in the comic, but it doesn't look all that representative here, even for a cartoony style. It's something I had to look up and I'm not saying I'm an ultimate master at it. It can be tricky, especially since it can be so varied.

Thanks for your critique, Neil Allen. Yeah, water is difficult to do in just pen and ink.

so...im gonna add some thoughts and I hope it comes across right.

your pitch for the book..."gods dead body...devil hires psychic". that actually sounds fucking awesome. so few pitches actually sound good and that made me go.."hmm..theres a lot of cool shit that could happen here",

of course execution is key. I guess there would have to be a large amount of suspension of disbelief if a guy walking around literally looks like satan. its a neat visual for sure. but the book would have to take a certain tone of almost dark humor maybe to work?
anyway...also...the story has so much potential. I see this as something that Alan Moore would make amazing. so theres the pressure to make it pay off. but we all have that when putting out work out there.

now...my problem.. the art to me just looks.. so not up to the level of the concept. I really don't mean to sound douche...but its really rough.
maybe in the context of the story it works exactly right..i know some books do work with this rough indie style look.
I just want to see Adam Hughes drawing this...or Mike Mignola, or Mark Silvestri. it sounds so awesome..i want it to look awesome.
id want to draw this book.

anyway...I hope you find success with it. sounds neat to me.

Thanks so much for your response, Rob. The book does take a dark comic tone for the most part, and Satan can disguise himself as human when he needs to.

Thanks again!

The idea/premise is very cool.

Satan needs a Judas Priest T-Shirt.

hey bro, I left a message on deviant as well. but do you have a different way to order this book rather than the link you left on deviantart thru comixology? I tried to do that process..even literally had my debit card out to buy, and it was so many steps and pains in the ass to sign up, but go here, but also go here..sign in with your amazon account(of which I don't have one), that I just gave up. this isn't YOUR fault..but I'm just looking for a way to get a copy of the thing.
