View Full Version : Old and New Weirdsdale Panel Comparison

So the top panels are the old version and the bottom panels are my new, current panels. I started Weirdsdale with the inclination to make the art realism but over time it changed and morphed and grew into a more gritty style. strange how that happens.

Is there alot of photoshop filters being used here?
They really don't look very 'drawn'. Sorry if I'm wrong.

The balance between realistic and cartoon seems awkward (to me anyway) in the panels at the swimming pool.

nope, no filters at all. i drew the picture, scanned it, and colored it in photoshop. if you call playing around with exposure, hue, and levels filters then yeah i used filters. the top images are not supposed to look drawn - so that's a compliment. it took some effort to get it to look like that. but then i decided to change the style at some point along the way (it kinda just happened on its own). so the bottom pics are more gritty, sketchy, and brighter/saturated. i simply messed around with the photoshop adjustment settings and inked it (while changing expressions, perspective, anatomy as needed)

it doesn't matter if the balance is off between the two different panels as the realistic panels won't be printed anyway. the bottom panels are gonna be the final awesomeness!
