View Full Version : Another submission question

For those of you willing to share your experiences with submitting please do. I have submitted (so far) to 5 companies. 3 of them were about 6 weeks ago and I only heard back from 1 - Action Lab Comics; who said my project had merit, but that they weren't interested.

Image and Avatar Press haven't gotten back to me, nor have the 2 others I subbed to a week ago (which I expect). Next on my list is Antartic Press, and possibly Hound Comics. Anyone with experience here?

(Mods - apologies if these are inappropriate questions).

Antartic Press is pretty responsive in my experience, however, does your project fit their current catalog? They do "American manga" and lately it seems like they publish little else besides steampunk.

You compltely ignored my question(s) in the previous thread:

What genre is your comic? What is the style of art?

Is it full color or black and white?

How many pages are planned for the first story arc?

Is any of the creative team an "established" creator?

This is kind of important stuff to consider when submitting. If your comic is a black and white splatterpunk horror comic and you submit to a publisher who traditionally publishes nothing but full-color feminist superhero comics, you're only going to be wasting your time, their time, and it's probably going to piss them off.
