Hi all,

I am an editor working for Quintet Publishing, a division of the Quarto Group. We are an international co-edition publisher based in the UK. You can visit the company site here: https://www.quartoknows.com/

We are looking for a writer and artist (or writers and artists) to collaborate on a new book that will teach basic Python computer programming through the story of a graphic novel.

We will be working with a Python expert who will help to outline the key plot points and information that needs to be included. It will then be our writer’s job to create this into a script that can be effectively illustrated. This is going to be a really interesting project, and there’s lots of scope for creativity in terms of the storyline and how certain aspects of the programming information are communicated to the reader.

We are looking for quite a classic DC/Marvel ’superhero’ style, as the story will centre on a central hero figure who ventures into the jungle on an epic quest to uncover a mysterious ‘Python’. Along the way, various challenges and obstacles will arise which serve to teach the basics of Python programming.

The first steps will be to create a few sample spreads that demonstrate how the book will work. This would be paid work, on a flat fee. After that you would be commissioned, again on a flat fee, for the full book.

If this sounds like something that you might be interested in working on, please do get in touch. Reply here, or else you can contact me at:
