PAID - Artist Wanted To Illustrate/Ink/Color Promotional Material for a Graphic Novel

PAID JOB: I'm a film editor by trade (http://tinyurl.com/jqeoqly), but also a published writer of short stories, essays, screenplays and a 130-page detective-noir-thriller graphic novel. I am looking to contract a work-for-hire artist to illustrate/ink/color a single page of art in the style of a period pulp fiction book cover/movie poster. This is for a pitch I'm putting together for prospective publishers. The pay is $150 for the completed illustrated/inked/colored single page piece. Payment will be done via a mutually agreed upon method (PayPal, online billpaying service, etc.). Final page deliverables must be made in 400 DPI LZW-compressed TIFF format, as well as JPEG and PSD formats.

Milestone 1: 30% payment. This stage includes submission/inspection of that page’s preliminary sketch/layout. Low resolution jpegs are fine for this milestone.

Milestone 2: 30% payment. This stage includes submission/inspection of that page’s finished pencils and ink.

Milestone 3: 40% payment. This stage includes submission/approval of fully completed page with full ink/color.

All payment made within 72 hours of each milestone's completion.

Photographic reference materials will be provided and should be closely honored in the style of the specified genre.

Initially, the artist's involvement will be limited to the pitch materials as described, but, should we advance beyond the objective (to pitch to publishers), it could lead to further freelance work.

• A positive, professional attitude is appreciated.
• Good English-speaking communication is essential.
• He or she should be punctual with all interactions and deadlines.
• Please, only submit appropriate material. All Fantasy, Super-hero, Sci-fi and/or Horror genre material will be discounted.
• Please respond with the email subject line: Dickens Art Submission
• More details of the project are available

If interested, please submit to: the.dickens@yahoo.com with online links to similar genre work. Also, write a little bit about yourself.

If you don't hear back within 2 weeks of your submission, assume that a suitable candidate has been found. This will not be -- by any means -- a judgment of your abilities. Thank you for responding.
