When Feeder's End is attacked by a serial killing monster, the UPSTARTS must step up to save the city and become inter-galactic celebs.

Upstarts is a four-issue mini-series created by writer Kenny Groom and artist Jo Jaro. It all takes place in the city of Feeder’s End 5253, a massive, sprawling metropolis built atop a giant, floating asteroid known as Babylon 313. Centered around Griffin, his pal and genetic monstrosity Pounder, and the sensual-yet-deadly Butters. All three are part of the not-so-elite unit known as the Unconventional Police, Search, and Rescue Team. The U-P-S-R-T, or, “Upstarts,” eliminate the perpetrators of crime with extreme prejudice.

Huge News folks. Bryan K Turner, who works on MARVEL'S Spiderman and Guardians of the Galaxy's animated series and many established comic titles did a print for us. The print is available on a tier on the page, but the even bigger news is that Bryan is willing to part with the ORIGINAL inked pinup that he drew. This is one of a kind. Head on over and check it out. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1983201915/upstarts-1/posts/1547175

It's a great looking comic, JJaro! Good luck with the Kickstarter!

What was the inspiration for the blue guy? He reminds me a lot of Tor Cyan / Rogue Trooper from 2000 AD.

Another update. Jerry "THE FRANCHIZE" Gaylord knocked out a pinup for us as well for another incentive.

Jerry worked on "Fanboys vs. Zombies" for BOOM! Studios as well as "Bill and Ted's Most Triumphant Return" for BOOM!

The list of his credits go on, but check him out here: www.thefranchizelive.com

Stay tuned to our KS page to see how you can get Jerry's prints as well as the one of a kind original on 11 x 17 comic paper!

Hi Craig. I actually had to google Tor Cyan. I'm not familiar with that character at all. But I agree, definitely some similarities there. I've been drawing Griffin for years. I used to be a member of a website called entervoid.com. Basically artist would creat a character and challenge other artists to do battle. You would do some sequentials and people vote the winner. Griffin was my character. Never really had a back story until Kenny Groom, the writer for Upstarts, integrated him into his book. Griffin was inspired by a mix of deadpool, hellboy, and Gambit with skin like Kevlar.
