View Full Version : Super: Issue 3 Kickstarter Relaunch

06-12-2015, 02:43 AM
So my first attempt at launching a Kickstarter for the third issue of Super was unsuccessful, but I am relaunching this weekend.

1. I have made some drastic changes the largest being a ridiculously lower goal. I decided to pay for all the art out of my own pocket, so all I need to raise is money to print and ship. I have done the math for all reward tiers to figure out EXACT costs. So with a $3 goal, that's right just once we reach $3 backers will receive their rewards. That means if I get ONE backer the campaign is fully funded.

Initially, I had a much higher goal to try and recuperate all the money I spent on the issue, but now I just want to get it into your hands.

2. Rewards are much cheaper (including shipping). Since I am no longer trying to fund the art, you can get stuff REALLY, REALLY cheap. I also am working with my uncle to find alternative shipping methods to make shipping cheaper for everyone.

Since he runs an international business, working with him I can now get physical rewards to most international locations for $7 or under. If you live in the US, shipping is generally between $2 to $3.

That's right, you Aussies and British chaps that were asking about getting those physical copies out to you, it is now actually affordable without breaking the bank!

3. Kickstarter exclusivity on rewards. All rewards are now Kickstarter exclusive. Digital rewards all include special Kickstarter versions, that include more making of content (script pages, early art, etc.)

All physical rewards include Kickstarter exclusive prints. I will also try and make it more clear that ALL backers are included in the thank you page. This was in the original KS, but was unclear.

To those interested you can get an early preview here:

Super: Issue 3 is now 17766% funded. Which, I think, means it's statistically the most successful comic in Kickstarter history...:slap:

Our Kickstarter for Super: Issue 3 (http://kck.st/1BifftK) is nearing 100 backers, with 99 backers in just 4 days! Jokes about being 53000% funded aside, I think the number of backers makes this Kickstarter a true success!

As for the $3 goal, it wasn't a gimmick, I'm not making potato salad. When I created this Kickstarter with such a low goal I really only had one thing in mind. "If someone out there wants a copy of Super, I want to make sure they get it. How much would that take?"

So, if you're interested in checking out our Kickstarter and taking it over that 100 backer threshold, be sure to come check us out (http://kck.st/1BifftK)!

Secret rewards tiers may be unlocked once we reach 100...

Blogger fantaffx ran the official ComiXology Submit Reviews for IGN up until April 8th of this year, when his work schedule no longer permitted it. Despite his busy schedule, he was kind enough to review Issue 3 of Super. Luckily for us both, he enjoyed it. Super: Issue 3 was given another A+!

If you want to read his review (http://t.co/vnoFvWghsj), you can here (http://t.co/vnoFvWghsj).

Or head over to our Kickstarter (http://kck.st/1BifftK) and draw your own opinions. Not only can you download Issue 1 for free, but you are given immediate access to all 3 issues the moment you hit the pledge button. :)

They will have the All-New All Different Avengers, Secret Wars #0, and Divergence from DC as well as some other goodies for everyone. They will also be having a big Fathers Day sale for all you last minute shoppers!

We are 72% of the way to being 1000 times over the requested goal for Super: Issue 3. When reaching this milestone I would love to introduce some new stretch goals, but would like backer and forum input on what sort of Stretch Goals appeal to you as a comic reader!
