...When you go over them with copics. It's so frustrating trying to color over these inks and they keep running and I get black and gray streaks in the picture. Is there a certain type of ink that goes well with copics or any alcohol based markers?

Eon productions has come out with a Copic resistant Ink which is also I believe water resistant. I bought 2 bottles but haven't had a chance to try em out. Worth a try though.

I just used a Copic over a drawing that I inked with a Sharpie pen, not marker but a Pen and it did not smear. On a cheap CVS Sketchbook paper.

most markers don't smear ink right away but a few passes and here comes smear city. I've smeared inks from the superblack FW and even the The no lacquer one from DH martin. continuous swipes over the inks results in smears. Now Copics won't smear copic multi liners so That may be an alternative.

What about using the Copic markers first and doing the inking after?
I don't use Copics markers, but I use watercolor or colored inks and I color first and do the inking over colors.
It works well for me.

would work if you are very good at coloring in the lines and once copics go over pencils there is no erasing them. The marker seals the pencils in. And smears the pencils as well.
