If yes, got any pointers?
I'm having a hell of a time finding info on the proper way to format stuff. All of their FAQ's seem more geared toward novels made in MSWord. They have a "Comics Creator" software, but I've seen some mixed reviews on their forums about that. I'd like to be able to use the files I already have in InDesign, and it seems like that should be doable. They were designing an InDesign plugin, but they gave up on it, and it doesn't work past CS5 (I'm on CC)

Using Word seems to be the most compatible ways to put together a book for Kindle distribution, even for non-fiction works that have lots of pictures. That is, unless you do everything straight coding (like html).

This lady is pretty darn clued up on all that stuff, been doing ebook formatting pretty much since ebooks entered the scene, maybe get in touch with her and see if she can point you in the right direction: http://bookformatter.com/

You don't need a plugin or other software, just have to learn how to utilize CC for epub output. Have a look to some of these articles and subscribe to the newsletter:
