A quick question about dialogue formatting:

Is doing a second dialogue placement for the same character, as in panel 4, the best way to pace things out for the letterer? It seems like it would be.

As a secondary, how much should that be done? Only when it's a necessary verbal impact/pacing thing? Should I be doing that anywhere I want or is it just making extra work?

It's a matter of pacing, depending on when it sounds appropiate for the character to make a pause.

Well, yeah, I understand that from a writing perspective, but I guess to rephrase the question, what's the best way to convey that to the letterer?

Exactly the way it's in that script, as two different dialogue bits. Mind you, sometimes a writer will do one dialogue bit, and it'll be too long, and you to split it between too balloons because of space.
