I just finished watching Dredd on Netflix. I was really quite surprised with how unawful it was.
It was actually GOOD! Too bad it flopped like a lemon party without any Viagra!

Still, it made me curious about the Sylvester Stallone movie again. I hadn't seen it since I had it in the theater I worked at in 1995, so I went to find the trailer on YouTube and found the entire movie instead!

Now you too can watch with me! It's a Mystery Science DigitalWebbing Theater Night!

It's kind of interesting how Judge Dredd did seem to try to imitate the comics to the best of their abilities and still managed to make a completely unwatchable film. I lay the blame directly at the feet of Stalone and Snyder, two very unappealing character actors. That and the whole helmet thing.

Dredd, on the other hand, was perfect.

The thing I didn't like about Dredd was that Dredd didn't seem like much of a bad ass. I understand it was training day for the rookie but she seemed more like the main character.

Did you know the MST3K guys are still doing their thing (http://www.rifftrax.com)? Not only do they have old movies, but audio recorded for newer ones like Phantom menace that you just play while you watch the movie, so they don't have to worry about copyright law anymore.

Oooooh I need to check that out!

Anything that throws mock at the Phantom Menace is good in my book!

Hater :man:

Most of you liked Batman christian bale version right? Now make that parallel with iron man 3 and you'll see pretty much the same movie.

What's my point... Idk, I just thought about the similarities just now. :man:

I felt the complete opposite. Urban was obviously going for a Clint Eastwood 'Man with no name' thing here, and I felt it really worked. It was as much what they didn't show him doing as what he did do that made him so appealing, I think. It was a very understated performance, and I think Urban is absolutely superb.

"Eat recycled food..."

That's all I took away from this movie. The third act is so incomprehensible that I can't believe they released it that way.
