View Full Version : Inks over Segovia

Hi everyone,

Stephen Jorge Segovia was nice enough to send me some pencils to ink for my portfolio.

This was a monster but so much fun! I wanted to go for a gritty look with the crosshatching.

Let me know what you think.

i dont think i personally like that ultra crosshatching concept, but to me, its obvious its done really really well. more a personal preference for me. well done though...

Wow I do like the cross hatching. Gives the colorist more options I think for shading and you did a great job!!

Thank you!

I see a LOT of hard work here. In the end you got a lot of good but also a lot of bad in this ink work. Some stronger blacks would have made the piece "pop" a lot more. As it stands, a good colorist could make this work but the inks alone have no depth. This is the hardest part of inking Segovia which I have done a few times myself. Your lines are REALLY nice and clean but you got lost in all of his lines a bit.

Thanks for having a look! Yeah I wanted to do something different with Stephen's pencils. Hence the cross-hatching. It's definitely not my strongest piece.
